Information Technologies Institute

Exclusive higher education in the Information Technologies Institute (ITI) is a new joint project of the St.-Petersburg State Marine Technical University (SPbSMTU) and the Information Technologies Centre "Mebius" (ITC), supported by the IBM and Computer Associates (CA).

SPbSMTU – one of the leading educational institutions of the city - is widely known in Russia and abroad for its high level of student training, classical pedagogical and scientific school.

ITC is a company, which occupies the leading positions in the field of implementation and support of the up-to-date industrial computer technologies, an educational center of the IBM and CA .

The main goal of the ITI is to provide training of qualified specialists with higher education in the field of information technologies for the leading national industrial enterprises, organizations and firms which started realizing the program of complex computerization.

Higher engineering education in the ITI is a combination

of profound fundamental knowledge and the most up-to-date information technologies. The training implies development of wide-ranging practical skills, typical for foreign system of professional preparation, in combination with formation of the powerful basis of fundamental knowledge traditional for the Russian higher school.

IT-Manager
ERP-Manager

Basic forms of training:

Day time - the complete higher education in 5,5 years
Evening education and tuition by correspondence - вsecond higher education in 2,5 years
Short-term courses - more than 200 according to the catalogue

Professional training is provided by the leading lecturers of the university and employees of the 9 ITI departments, participating in the realization of computerization projects of a number of the enterprises and firms, namely in organization and management of training in the field of the automated systems of design and technological preparation of manufacturing (CAD/CAM/CAE systems), automated enterprise management systems; consulting and engineering of business processes; development of the software of electronic business, system software provision for computer networks and telecommunications, management of computational resources and protection of the information; mathematical and virtual modeling.
